Doing it for Charity

Monday, July 7th, 2008

We are very lucky to have our health and a lovely family. These facts coupled with our home, ability to be able to work and live in a well-developed country are nothing short of blessings. We are under no illusions that whilst on our travels we will probably hanker for the familiarity of home, those creature comforts and that we will keep thinking about how lucky we are as we make natural comparisons with some of the especially poorer countries and people we encounter along our route.

There are a couple of projects we are interested in currently. One is the Moldovan Street Childrens Project and the partnership our children’s school have with a school in Moldova. We are following the fund-raising and benefits which are very positive. During the May Half Term Holiday, one of the teachers actually visited and re-counted her experiences via a newsletter which we thought was fantastic. The whole school are involved with fund-raising and in following the great progress being made. Additional help and support is required and we think that as well as visiting Moldova as part of our route, we could make a positive contribution in support of the project ourselves. More news to follow on this.

The second charity is called ‘The Smile Train’ a charitable organisation involved with giving a child with cleft a second chance. Since March 2000, the charity has performed 328,320 surgeries and is involved with 75 countries. We are going to investigate further and again more news to follow on this.

Doing the trip for charity is a big under-taking and comes with a degree of commitment and responsibility and should not be under-taken lightly.  We are going to discuss together as a family before making any hard and fast decisions

I’ve been exploring for a little for any high quality articles or blog posts on this kind of area . Exploring in Yahoo I at last stumbled upon this site. Reading this information So i’m happy to convey that I’ve an incredibly good uncanny feeling I discovered just what I needed. I most certainly will make sure to don’t forget this website and give it a glance on a constant basis.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

What I want to know is why I should care? I mean, not to say that what youve got to say isnt important, but I mean, its so generic. Everyones talking about this man. Give us something more, something that we can get behind so we can feel as passionately about it as you do.
