Applying for Australian Visas

The debate is on as to whether we should apply for Independant Skilled Australian Work Visas. We are both under 45, are on the skills list and qualify (by the skin of our teeth) for the points required. The issue is the cost of application and then having to fly to Australia to validate at port of entry before actually driving there eventually ‘in our own time’ - so to remove the pressure of having to ‘rush’ there within the time frame periods otherwise which we think are 1 year - need to check this out. Then there is the matter of the expense in taking this route as an option and the not knowing if we want to actually work when we get there or not. Situation is that we feel we are faced with a ‘use it or lose it’ opportunity. Decisions, decisions - reckon we’ll have to act fast though or we’ll be too old!!!!! to qualify under the current system.
